Yesterday during a family trip I put the CD in the car and when "Dance of the Hours" came up we all just started humming together and laughing about the Hippos and the Ostriches. One - for the wonderful arrangements, which I know by heart two - for the nostalgia and three - it is pretty great as a compilation of classical music. ![]() I own other performances and newer recordings of almost all these pieces, but I still wanted to buy this CD. Still, I have to say that I don't mind so much, I think it's a part of the magic. More than that, when I tried listening to it with simple headphones, not only a lot of nuances were lost, but the sound shifted abruptly from left to right. The music sounds "old" and distant, and not as clear as recordings of our time. All that remained is a simple mono recording, that unfortunately even after remastering does not sound so good.
